8-5-08 - While busy on a working fire, Boyertown company 15 requested Mt. Penn Ladder 1, Reiffton Engine 2, and Birdsboro Rescue-Engine 7 to stand by at their station. Crews stood by while Boyertown crews battled the fire. After 4 1/2 hours, crews returned from the fire and released the standby apparatus.

Tuesday, 10 June 2008 at 1917 hours, Rescue 7 and Company 36 (Kulptown Fire Company) started the evening with an accident with entrappment in the intersection of E. Main St and Center Ave, Union Township.

The Friendship Fire Company is installing a Plymovent Exhaust Extraction System. This system removes vehicle exhaust and directs it outside the building, preventing buildup of carbon monoxide, unburned fuels, and carcinogens commonly found in every-day vehicle exhaust. The Fire Company received a federal Assistance to Firefighters Grant to pay for 95% of the $48,000 system.

Today (Thursday) marked the beginning of a long-overdue paving project at the fire station. Unitex Corporation began by removing large cracked sections of the parking area and apparatus ramp. New pavement is being applied to all three parking lots. The entire project ($80,000) is being funded by years of saved donations and proceeds from the social quarters/banquet hall. No tax money was used to fund this project!! |

On Sunday, May 24, 2008 at 0257 hrs, Birdsboro and Kulptown Fire Companies were dispatched to Beacon Street in the Boro for an Automatic Fire Alarm. Engine 7 with Deputy 7 arrived to find heavy smoke throughout the 1st floor of the structure. Deputy 7 upgraded the assignment to a working fire, which brought crews from Monarch, Reiffton, and Mt Penn Fire Companies. Engine 7 and Tower 7's crews found a small fire that was quickly extinguished with a fire extinguisher. Thanks to the fire alarm system, the fire was contained to the area of origin. |

On Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 1549 Company 36, 7 and Rescue 6 were dispatched for an Accident with Injuries in the intersection of Route 724 and N. Main Street in Union Townshhip. Crews assisted EMS with 3 subjects that were injured as a result of the accident.   |

On Sunday April 20th, firefighters from Birdsboro joined members from Reiffton Fire Company at an abandoned building in Exeter Township to further training. A wall breech is shown here, where firefighters break through block walls. Crews also practiced trenching a roof as well as forcible entry. Special thanks to Reiffton's Chris Jordan for crossing the legal hurdles involved in setting up a program like this. |

Thursday, April 17 - At 19:00 CO7 and Co36 (Kulptown) were dispatched to Cocalico Rd. near Liberty Place for a reported brush fire behind the water tank. Deputy 7 (S.Kulp) went en route with smoke showing, and arrived on location to find a working fire approx. 400' into the woods. |

 At 06:45, the structure alarm was dispatched to 129 S. Spruce St in Birdsboro for a reported basement fire. Engine 7 and FM29 arrived on scene with heavy smoke on all floors of a 2.5 story brick single. The crew from Engine 7 deployed an attack line into the basement, where heavy smoke and fire was evident. |

At 1555, a structure alarm assignment (Exeter Twp FD, Birdsboro FC, Amity FC) was dispatched to Lincoln Rd behind Wal-Mart for a reported working structure fire. Captain 7 (Matt Hernandez) arrived on location and reported smoke from a dwelling......

Just before 1900 hours, units were dispatched to #29 4th avenue for a dwelling fire with people entrapped. Stonersville, Reiffton, Birdsboro, Monocacy, and Amity were sent on the initial assignment. Deputy 7 reported heavy smoke showing from route 422.
