Thursday, 24 September 2009 – 1618 hrs
Rescue 7 was dispatched along with Company 23 (Gibraltar) and 24 (Geigertown) for an Accident with Injuries. Chief 7 (S. Kulp) arrived on scene to find a car versus a dump truck with 2 patients heavily entrapped. Rescue 25 (Exeter Twp) was added to the assignment. Rescue 7 arrived and was instructed to begin extrication on a critically ill patient in the car. The patient was removed from the wreckage within 20 minutes and transported to Reading Memorial Medical Center Trauma Center where he succumbed to his injuries. Crews than assisted Rescue 25 and 24’s crews with the extrication of the driver of the dump truck.
